Mastopexy
Mastopexy is a surgical procedure to counterract drooping of the breasts.
The lollipop lift involves an incision around the nipple and areola, with a vertical scar extending to the crease underneath the breast.
Mastopexy may be performed alone, or in combination with placement of breast implants.
After surgery, you'll be wearing a surgical bra over gauze dressings. A small tube may be placed in each breast to drain off blood and fluids for the first day or two. You may rarely feel some pain for the first couple of days-especially when you move around or cough-and some discomfort for a week or more.
Breast modification is a surgical procedure under general anesthesia, when sagging breasts are lifted and shaped. The surgery takes 90 minutes to 3 hours.
Your surgeon will prescribe medication to lessen the pain. The bandages will be removed a day or two after surgery, though you'll continue wearing the surgical bra for several weeks, until the swelling and bruising subside. Your stitches will be absorbed automatically.
Patients are given a list of detailed postoperative instructions, which include requirements for medications, hygiene, exercise and eating.
