Liposhaping or Liposuction
Liposuction, is the procedure that can help sculpt the body by removing unwanted fat from specific areas, including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, back, chin, cheeks and neck. During the past decade, liposuction, which is also known as "lipoplasty," has benefited from several new refinements, which yield more precise results and quicker recovery times.
Although no type of aesthetic surgery is a substitute for dieting and exercise, liposuction and body contouring can remove stubborn areas of fat that don't respond to traditional weight-loss methods.
Liposhaping is made through tiny incisions, a narrow tube or cannula is inserted and used to vacuum the fat layer that lies deep beneath the skin. The cannula is used to break up the fat cells and suctioning them out. Liposuction can be performed under local anesthesia.
After the procedure, the area of the body that was treated is tightly wrapped to help reduce swelling, bruising, and pain. Elastic bandages and tape, support hose (such as those used to treat varicose veins), a special girdle, or another type of tight-fitting garment may be used, depending on which part of the body was treated.
You may have to wear the compression garment or wrap for a week or more. The recovery may take 3-7 days and will take 1-3 weeks to lose all the bruzes. In some cases LPG or RF treatment may be needed to help sculpting the body.
Patients are given a list of detailed postoperative instructions, which include requirements for medications, hygiene, exercise and eating.
